This workshop, to be held in person at CIQSS, will introduce participants to latent class analysis, which identifies subgroups of normally unobservable individuals from nominal or ordinal variables.
The course will cover the theoretical foundations, the determination of the number of classes and posthoc analyses.
Participants will use R and Mplus to perform these analyses, and the advantages and disadvantages of both software packages will be discussed. Prerequisites: Familiarity with R or Mplus is recommended, but not essential.
