Latent class analyses are used to identify subgroups of normally unobservable individuals on the basis of variables with a nominal or ordinal scale.
The basic foundations, methods for determining the number of classes and posthoc analyses will be presented.
The course will cover two platforms for performing these analyses, R and Mplus.
The advantages and disadvantages of each software package will be discussed.
